This year.

This year was for the most part really good. My favorite memory of this year was, playing softball for MHS. We had a great year, as for all the freshmen that tried out and made the team we all knew that we had big shoes to fill and that there was a lot of pressure for us to do good, the MHS softball Program is one of the top programs in the state if not the best, we have won 5 or 6 State Titles the last being in 2006. Varsity has been WB6 champs the last 6 years, just missing it this year, and JV has one and unimaginable over 30 WB6 titles in a row, the year we went undefeated in Conference and had an overall record of 25-2. Also this year, I made the honor roll for the first time! Another good memory of this year if meeting new people, there are so many people here at MHS. My favorite class of this year would have to be Science, not so much the work we had to do, but Mr. Sundberg was awesome, he was by far my favorite teacher here at MHS along with Mrs. Schutte! Another memory I have of this year is when we had all the lights go out and we got to go home early! That was a fun day. Well now that my freshmen year is over, I cant wait to be a sophmore and not be the "FRESHIE" anymore. But overall Freshmen year was a great experience I will never forget

Animal Farm e.c

After reading Animal Farm I had a different point of view of the book after we read it as a class, at first I didn't think the book was going to be any good. After getting in to it, this book really teaches some life lessons. This book animal farm shows time and time that animals strikingly reflect people.

ANIMAL FARM

Animal farm ties into some of my other posts, like the post I did on animal cruelty. In animal farm there is a lot of content that deals with animal cruelty. For example, if a dog got older and started to lose its teeth, they would tie a brick to the dog and put it in a pond. This was just one of the many cruel, mean things they did to the animals.

Who holds the most power in your life?

Who holds the most power in my life? Well, I believe that I hold power in my life. And I believe that everyone else does too. This is because we control how are life is going to be, we have all the power in the world to be whatever we want, its just a matter of trying. If you don't try then you wont succeed. Even if you weren't born into the greatest of life, you can still be successful in life, everyone can. I think people just stop trying because they think that if they weren't born into a good life thats how it will always be and that is not true. We hold the power of life within our selfs and how we want our life to be, we can either make or break it, its all up to us. Life is a matter of taking chances and risks and if you don't any you might miss out. So once again we do hold the power within us to do whatever in the world we want, we have the power to make our dreams come true, its all up to us and the effort we want to put into it. Like for example, softball, I play travel softball and it is very competitive, and you have to keep up with all the talent that is in this area. You constantly have to keep practicing going to all of your lessons going to conditioning, its hard and if you don't take control and put the power in yourself to get through it, you wont succeed and most of all you wont be the best. Thats why it is important that we hold the power in our life and we don't let others control us and tell us what we are to do. We have no limit as to what we can do in our life.

why do children run away?

An estimated 2,3oo children go missing everyday, and most are runaways. While some just go on a small road trip with friends to get away, many leave and never come home, and are never seen again. Some argue the reason why children run away from home is because of their behavior. I believe the most reasonable reason is of an unhealthy relationship with their parents.

An unhealthy relationship could mean many things like, kids feel they aren’t getting guidance or support their needing so they run away to try to find a place where they can get it. This is because home is supposed to be a safe and comfortable environment, and if they don’t feel loved, safe or comfortable in their own home, they feel as if they don’t matter. So they leave and try to find a place where they can get the things their needing.

In Addition, children also feel the need to run away from home if they are not getting the attention their needing. According to studies this is one of the main reason why children run away from home. When running away they usually go to a friends or relatives house. They try to find someone who can understand them and treat them fairly. If children have issues/problems that they are needing guidance and their parents are always away from home or giving most of the attention to a younger or needing sibling, they feel like they have no one. So they feel the only way to get the guidance is by running away to try to find someone who can fill in the shoes of their parents.

Also, rebellion can also be a cause in children running away. If they are receiving abuse, or feeling not loved and not getting the attention their needing, they start to rebell, which could result to running away. And when rebelling they running away isn’t the only thing they could do. They could start using drugs, and start drinking to try to not feel the pain they are feeling.

From reading this, you can easily tell that running away is a very serious matter. There are many reasons as to why children run away, from lack of guidance and support, to abuse, and no attention. The number of children running away is growing every year, and there is something you can do. If you know someone that is thinking about running away, tell someone!

SnOw daYs!

Have you ever found your self watching the news more often in the winter? And your just praying for snow? No matter how much you hate the cold and the snow, everybody loves a snow day! Its a day to have fun or just relax and watch TV. But it seems last few years we haven't had rarely any? The school District seems to push it any more, even with a foot of snow and its below zero they still make us go to school. To me thats not fair! Most of the students at Moline drive, which make getting to school, with snow on the ground and a bunch of teenagers on the road very hazardous! Not to mention all the other schools surrounding Moline, you have Logan, Roosevelt, Garfield, Willard, and Wilson just down the street. And with all those schools equals young ones walking to school. Which sums up to kids getting hit by sliding cars. Snow can be fun, but it can also be deadly! Accidents happen, and I believe that if there is more than a foot of snow on the ground, schools should close! We can always get those school days made up, but you cant make up for someone getting hurt or even dying.
